As part of a Lease-Purchase Agreement between the Mid-Bay Bridge Authority and the Florida Department of Transportation, the System, designated as SR293 which includes the Mid-Bay Bridge, Danny Wuerffel Way and Spence Parkway, is part of Florida’s state highway system which means the FDOT is fully responsible for all aspects of its operation and maintenance including safety during inclement weather.
