As part of a Lease-Purchase Agreement between the Mid-Bay Bridge Authority and the Florida Department of Transportation, the Bridge and newly completed Spence Parkway are part of Florida’s state highway system which means the FDOT is fully responsible for all aspects of their operation and maintenance including safety during inclement weather.
